So che state organizzando le vacanze di Natale e proprio per questo oggi vi consiglio un posticino niente male, sto parlando dell’Hudson di New York. Alcune amiche mi chiedevano giorni fa alcuni consigli su dove alloggiare nella big apple, secondo me questo hotel si trova in una posizione perfetta per visitare la città , oltre ad essere veramente una location per una vacanza alla grande. Come vedete dalle foto è un hotel di design, aperto nel 2000 dopo un cantiere di rinnovazioni durato 3 anni, firmato dal celebre designer Philippe Starck. La facciata nera esterna si apre sulla scala mobile che porta al terzo piano dove ci si ritrova avvolti da un’entrata verde, con tanto di tetto vetrato. Al soffitto ondeggia un lampadario in cristallo enorme, ma senza lampadine! La luce emanata da questo brillante oggetto è in realtà il riflesso dei diversi spot luminosi che lo circondano. Tantissimi spazi per rilassarsi, una longe con biliardo, un giardino esterno che di sera diventa un locale sui tetti della città, un secondo terrazzo da cui ammirare lo skyline e una discoteca esclusiva, alla quale si accede solo se ospiti o in liste serratissime. E’ sicuramente uno dei posti più mondani della città, con un continuo via vai di modelle e uomini distinti.
Le camere, un pò piccole, ma siamo a NY non pretendiamo troppo, hanno il pavimento in teak e con legno Makore ai muri, mentre le lampade del comodino sono dipinte a mano dall’artista italiano Francesco Clemente. Il materiale utilizzato per la testiera del tetto (ed anche per una parte del mobilio nelle categorie di camera superiori) è la stessa utilizzata per fabbricare le borse Prada.
Posizione, sulla 58th Street, praticamente di fronte al Columbus Circle, dal quale si può prendere ogni linea della metropolitana, a 100 mt dall’ingresso di Central Park, a 10 minuti a piedi da Time Square. nei paraggi tantissimi ristoranti se non avete voglia di prendere il taxi e il Mandarin, hotel nel quale al 37 piano è possibile sorseggiare un ottimo cocktail guastandosi una delle viste più mozzafiato della città.

The black exterior façade opens onto the escalator to the third floor where you will find yourself surrounded by green entrance, complete with a glass roof. The ceiling undulates a huge crystal chandelier, but without bulbs! The brilliant light emitted by this object is actually a reflection of several bright spots that surround it. Lots of space to relax, a daisy chain with billiards, an outdoor garden which every evening becomes a place on the roofs of the city, a second terrace to admire the skyline and a unique club, which is accessed only if the guest list or in a tight. And ‘certainly one of the most worldly of the city, with a steady stream of models and distinguished men.
The rooms are a little small, but we do not claim to NY too, have teak floors and wooden walls to Makore, and bedside lamps are hand painted by Italian artist Francesco Clemente. The material used for the headboard of the roof (and also for part of the furniture in the room categories above) is the same used to make the Prada handbags.
Location on 58th Street, virtually across from Columbus Circle, where you can take any subway line, 100 meters from the entrance of Central Park, a 10-minute walk from Times Square. plenty of restaurants nearby if you do not want to take a taxi and the Mandarin, the 37 floor hotel where you can sip a cocktail spoiling one of the most breathtaking views of the city.
