L’altra sera a cena un amico mi ha fatto notare un ragazzo con una cravatta bruttissima, ma così brutta che avrei voluto alzarmi, andare da lui e lì per lì sarei stata indecisa se stringerla ancora di più e sopprimere il tipo o semplicemente sfilargliela e usarla per pulire il pavimento.
L’uomo elegante non va tanto di moda, con questo ritorno agli anni ’80, ma a me i tipi in giacca e cravatta fanno sempre un certo effetto, basta però che tutto sia al posto giusto anche se non tutti possono avere lo stesso fascino del Dott. Shephard dopo essersi schiantato sull’isola di Lost.
E’ facile poi, che se uno non è propriamente abituato a portarla perchè fa il pompiere, il meccanico, il gondoliere, alla sera o in occasioni particolari, te lo ritrovi davanti con una cravatta da matrimonio lucida, con nodo Windsor (quello enorme per intenderci) e con la punta che gli arriva sopra l’ombelico.
Dio ci salvi da queste orrende visioni. Ecco pochi consigli pratici:
1- Parti dall’idea di non complicarti troppo la vita, noi donne siamo più colpite negativamente da un abbinamento obrobrioso che dalla semplicità. Quindi se non sei un esperto di look non azzardare troppo, piuttosto non metterla che stai bene lo stesso.
2- Metti la cravatta a matrimoni, battesimi o funerali, cercando di non eccedere coi colori, soprattutto per questo ultimo tipo di eventi.
3- Se questa sera vuoi essere elegante mettine una in tinta unita e non sbagli mai oppure in regimental, sempre tinta unita con le striscette oblique. Se invece vuoi azzardare, strisce, motivi o disegni all over, purchè piccoli, no palle da calcio. Va bene anche il Principe di Galles, ma su fondo marrone o verde.
4 – La pochette (il fazzoletto da taschino) sta andando alla grande, la regola la vorrebbe dello stesso colore della camicia, tanto che molte aziende la vendono già in abbinata, quindi anche dello stesso tessuto. no dello stesso colore della cravatta.
5- Il nodo va solo quello semplice, non quelli troppo gonfi come il doppio nodo o il nodo Windsor che vanno usati solo nelle grandi occasioni e con determinate camicie. La cravatta dovrebbe arrivare con la punta appena sopra la cintura, nè troppo sopra, nè sotto.
